Overview
Self-directed photography work at the IHC centre. No brief and no client — a series exploring the space, its detail and how light moves through it, shot to build and demonstrate a visual eye rather than to fill an order.
The Challenge
Personal work has no brief, which makes it harder rather than easier. Without a client telling you what the picture is for, the discipline has to come from somewhere else — a consistent point of view held across a whole series.
The Approach

Choose a constraint
A series needs a rule. Holding one — a treatment of light, a framing habit — is what separates a body of work from a folder of photos.

Shoot the space, not the subject
Architecture rewards patience with light more than it rewards angles.

Edit as a set
Frames graded to sit together, so the series reads as one piece of work.
